Default Steering Gear Upgrade 69 Firebird

I want to do the steering gear upgrade for on my 69 Bird which is a factory 400 car with factory power steering equipment intact. if I upgraded to a steering box from a 84-92 Camaro - it's the 12.7:1 ratio box with Cardone rebuild 276550 do I risk issues with a bad rebuild. Is this still the suggested part for these quality wise. Am I safe to assume aside from adapters for hoses and the steering coupler, all of my factory parts will accept the upgrade?

Call "Turn One" in Saginaw, Michigan for Intel on your steering box intentions. Excellent company, this is who built my 69 Firebird steering box into a 2-1/4 turn lock to lock. Very pleased with the results.

I put in a WS6 quick ratio box in my 69 and it bolted right in if I remember correctly... it was 17 years ago.

Do you know what years WS6 boxes are desirable and direct swap?

Not for sure, but fairly sure the 80 -81 T/A WS6 will bolt in. Anyone know for sure? The WS6 box is much better than the stock one IMO.
