Car is hesi ... hesit ... hesitating
I'm sure it's the carb, well, I think I'm sure it's the carb .... car starts fine. When I stop at a stop sign or stop light and then am able to go, if I give it gas, it seems to hesitate a little ... the more gas I give it, the closer it sorta kinda feels like it may stall, but it's not stalling.
So, I'm thinking the timing is off -- again -- it is set at 6 per the manual and once it was set properly before, the stalling issue cleared up. Any idea if I'm close or way off the mark?

Is it a 2 or 4 BBL carb?

I'm not sure why this was moved but it relates to an ongoing problem that's been discussed numerous times in the section it was in ... but it's a 4bbl

Brand new Edelbrock 4 bbl 600 cfm carb.
When I had this issue with the other carb (800 cfm) I was told the carb was too big for the car and to get the smaller one, as well as adjust the timing. So now I have the smaller, correct carb and timing is set to 6 as per the manual, and I still am having the issue though not as bad. The guy from the muffler shop said when he took it for a test drive, the carb needed adjusting as the engine has a lot more balls than it's giving up.

You didn't say what engine is in your car, but my experience with Edelbrock carbs is that they are set a little too lean at the factory. Your best bet is to get the tuning kit from someplace like Summit and a pack of airhorn gaskets. The kit has all the springs, rods and jets to tune the carb. Then just start experimenting. The booklet you got with the carb will instruct you how to change the combinations to get it tuned correctly. I would start by going one stage rich on the primaries, and possibly going to stronger springs. It will take some time, but when you get the right combo, you will know it.

Adjust the "pump shot" on the accelerator pump. On the E carbs, there are 3 settings for this. This is simple to adjust. You will see a rod going up to the accel pump with 3 holes in it. try all 3. Most likely this will solve your problem. re-jetting the carb isnt going to do you any good, unless the calibration is WAY off which is unlikely. I've had real good luck with the E carbs on mild/stock engines...

What's the ambient air temperature? Cool or cold? Enough heat in the manifold? Heat riser blocked? aluminum manifold? No preheat to air cleaner snorkel? Thermacs not functioning properly?

I adjusted the thingie with the 3 holes and put it on the lowest hole. While it has a small hesitation, it's nothing like it was and this is totally doable. It also fixed the starting issue so thank you VERY much
