Default 67 wiper linkage inquiry

My linkage is being cleaned up and painted as I start putting the car back together.

I noticed that there are 2 ball and socket pieces on these units. The ball is metal and the socket is a plastic piece that the ball snaps into.

These are original on my linkage and one is so worn that the ball falls out easily.

I'd like to replace the worn out plastic but not sure the best place to source them. I've found several online but none look quite correct. Doesn't need to be oem correct or anything like that, just need them to work.

I hate to have to do things twice.

Also, I noticed that one of the mounting ends has a screw that broke off in the threaded portion. Not sure it I have a bit that tiny to drill it out...

Any thoughts?

I've tried drilling the broken screw to no avail. Maybe not doing it right? Can't get any purchase on it. Wonder if anyone might have one of these pieces lying around they'd like to sell. The rest of my linkage is fine...

I know it's an original but..... I'd find another that's in better shape. It will save you a bunch of headaches. I have an old one that was original to my 66 GTO but it's missing one of the clips. It's in rough shape.

Ask for one in the "61-77 GTO, Tempest & LeMans Parts WANTED" section. Or someone might have one it the 61-77 GTO, Tempest & LeMans Parts For SALE" section.

They are reproduced, but not to the tolerance and quality of originals.

Make sure you don't lose any of the clips on the transmission arms and especially the clip for the wiper motor. Stuff the gap on the backside of the firewall with a rag under the wiper motor arm. It takes a while to get the clip from Ames.... if they have any in stock. To be safe get 2 of them.... just in case.

This is from my personal dumba** experience back when PY was still around.
