Default Rear seat mounting points

Car: 67 tempest

Issue: Replaced floor pan some years ago- Discovered that the old rear seat clips went out with the scrap and were not included with new floor. I've sourced the new mounting clips and caged nut housings. However, I do not have good enough reference points for the actual mounting.

I'm going to have them welded in and I have the seat frame for some reference but was wondering if anyone had some good pics and maybe some measurements to give me a better approximation of where these pieces will need to go.

My 66 post has the rear seat out but I won’t be able to get to the car until next week.

Exclamation REAR SEAT 66 Vs 67

'66 Rear seat retainers differ from '67.
I'm not aware of any re-pops for these.

If you do secure a set but can't get measurements, use the frame drop points as a guide.
This should get you close.
You could then temporarily screw them down and adjust as needed before welding.

The file images I have posted give you an idea of alignment.

Here is one I took during tear down of my 67 GTO. It shows the mounting points in relation to the metal drain plugs in front of them and the two small round plugs behind them.

Jeff Hamlin: I sourced the repop retainers from inline if I recall correctly. I am not sure if they were the same as came out as those pieces are long gone.

Thanks to everyone for the pics. That helps a lot. I want to make sure it all goes in properly.

Question: If the hooks on the upper part of the rear seat back let you hang the seat back, is there some sort of mounting point for the lower portion of the seat back? I know in some later G bodies you hang the seat back off the hooks and then there are two straps that are part of the seat back that are bolted to the body. And then you can press in the lower seat cushion.

The front bottom seat hooks are inline with the rear upper seat bolt holes (RED CIRCLE)
And the Upper rear seat should have metal tabs attached to the bottom frame these have holes for the bolts.

Got it. Those are the ones I have. Didn't see them with the light color of paint.

Thanks!
