Coasting in neutral has little to no effect in just about anything with fuel injection. Fuel deceleration cut algorithms will send just enough fuel through the injectors to keep the engine going without running excessively lean to the point of causing damage. Heck, my 1984 Toyota pickup with mulitiport EFI has this feature and that's inching its way to 40.

Carburetor vehicles that are not feedback controlled or have a fuel cut solenoid is a completely different story. Coasting in neutral actually does save a bit of fuel with these designs.

I've read arguments about coasting in neutral with automatic transmissions can possibly lead to oil starvation issues at higher speeds. I can't personally confirm nor deny that claim.
