Default 1969 GTO JUDGE convertible Frame off Show car

First time offered for sale in over 25 yrs is this 100% Real and PHS documented Judge convertible. Purchased a little over 25 yrs ago from Steve Ames where a 5 yr no expense spared restoration was completed in 2000 with over 100k invested. The car was then put into a climate controlled building for the next 19 yrs covered up and never shown because the owner was afraid to drive it anywhere after spending so much time and money on it. Shame the car was never enjoyed .
It's a complete numbers matching car with "born with" engine, transmission and rear. There was only 108 GM made 69 judge convertibles built with only 29 automatics and this is 1 of 2 made in Expresso Brown. Like I said Original YZ block, with VIN# stamped on it Original PQ coded turbo 400 trans and 355 safe-t-track rear with its XH code. The car is museum quality and over restored with even the floors being painted Expresso brown. Not 1 stone unturned with the complete drivetrain all rebuilt. Lots of NOS parts were used along with Gardner exhaust right down to an original set of Goodyear Polyglas G70-14 Whitewall tires on the original date coded JA rally ii wheels. I did alot of the work and oversaw all the parts used and sourced most everything used.. The restoration is almost 20yrs old but still shows fresh and I feel would do well at a concours show.
I was taking it to the Mcacn show next week but have decided against it because of timeline. Shame I really wanted it in the class of 69 celebrating the Judges 50th anniversary this year.
Please call 267-246-6903 if you or happen to know someone looking for a trailer queen Holy Grail Gto Judge. The car is too nice for me as I like to drive and beat the snot out of my cars. Its being offered for 125k or best offer. Interesting musclcar trades with cash will be considered..
This car belongs in a museum or someone's collection. Definitely for the serious collector. I'm only going to post a few pics here first and then try a few other venues. Thanks for reading this long winded description.

Gary-I don’t know why- but I appreciate the sentiment. As I see it - you have all the goodies. I do agree with you about the price on Dons Judge convertible. I think he is about $15-25000 too cheap on his price. I heard recently that my 69 triple black Judge convertible traded hands again for $235000 and now is in Maryland. I haven’t heard a thing about my other 69 Judge convertible since I sold it in 2007 for around $153000. Don should be around $150000 at least I feel. Maybe Gary and Don should do some trading on a 70 Judge convertible. That way another Judge convertible gets back on the road after Don restores it. Just my 2 cents worth.

Thanks Greg! I appreciate u saying that.
I originally thought the car should be 150+ but figured I'd try to undersell it so to speak to someone quickly so they could make some money on it taking it to the right auction. It's a shame I was 7nable to take it to the Mcacn show like I intended.
I believe I would of found a buyer there.
Its nicer in person than these pics show.

Not sure about that Gary but I did have a guy come to my shop last week to buy an unrelated part and he asked if it came out of Connecticut? I said yes and he told me he remembers one being for sale in the paper for sale and knew of the car locally. Regretted not going to look at it .I told him it was bought new at Russell pontiac in Hartford and he told me they sold more Ram air cars up there in the Connecticut area than any other Pontiac dealer.
I figured that's probably when Ames bought the car. Supposedly never left the Hartford area till he bought it. I'm not even sure how my friend even bought the car off Steve Just remember him taking a trailer up there to get it and I was shocked how much he paid for it

I remember a expresso brown one up that direction back in the early 80's advertised in one of the different trader papers/magazines. I couldn't break away to make a trip that far and didn't know anyone to transport back then. it sold right away. and then right after that I bought one out of plainfield nj.

This has got to be the same car. What color was the Plainfield car? I came across what I felt at the time was a real 69 judge convertible in orange for 2500 bucks but it was an automatic and it was rough . I always wondered where that car wound up.
