Default 3.1-3.4 Oil pressure issues?

Got a 3.4 V6 in a '95 Bird with low oil pressure at hot idle. Like real low. Seems strange to me, regular oil changes, no noise from engine & lots of hwy miles.
Besides the usual suspects, is there an issue with oil pressure relief springs breaking in these engines? I have seen this mentioned in some internet searches.
If the sending unit proves accurate, it looks like it pan would need to come off.

Just wondering if you’ve looked at the oil on the dipstick to see if it’s milky looking. These engines were known for lower intake manifold gaskets leaking coolant into the crankcase and eating up the bearings if not caught quickly. First symptom of condition is usually low oil pressure.

Not a bad theory. I have heard about head gaskets. I have had it 6 years and it came with 68K on it. So far, 60K trouble free miles... Previous to that is anyone's guess. Maybe in a previous life, it got the Dexcool milkshake?
