I appreciate your footwork. It would be great to get an old licence plate frame or something. And even better yet, if any of them remember the car.

Here's some nice and greasy underside shots taken last week. The car is set for pickup tomorrow.

I'll just say, If I was restoring a 72 formula 455, It would have the sticker on the air cleaner. |

Since the Formula and the GTO used a common air cleaner for Ram Air in 1971 & 1972 - how would they know if there should be a sticker or not?
I would have to believe they all had them.

I am going to second this, These were AC sub assemblies and GM threw them the specs and decals. This is why the decal isnt in the assy manual, because they were all sub assemblies made by AC.

Steve, I know ya love the "Purple stuff" and "Soda wash" ( that stuff that cleans teeth LOL!)
BUT..... A rented Steam cleaner ( youll need some diesel for it, they have an oil burner on the end) will clean that up so youll need NO elbow grease. Just need some gravel area to work on. 20 minutes is all it would take.. ...... Should I buy stock in the Purple stuff now??? LOL |

They call that rear main seal leak "Pontiac undercoating".

Man - a guy goes turkey hunting for a few weekends and lays off the boards for awhile and this is what happens - 5 pages into Steve's newest adventure and I'm just finding out about it! Congrats Steve on a black beauty!

The car got picked up in Vancouver this morning by TFX Transport. http://www.tfxinternational.com/
The seller said it was raining all day and then stopped for the 15 minutes it took to load up the car. Once the car was in the trailer, it started raining again. :-) Now the clock starts ticking...3000 miles to go! The car is starting at the farthest point west, from New Jersey that you can possibly get! Last edited by njsteve; 04-16-2012 at 05:54 PM. |
