I want to put the kickdown back on for now even though likely swapping engine and tranny next year.
Can get bracket off a 301 car..is the 301 and 400 kickdown bracket setup the same..or should I get one from edelbrock..I think I saw they have a throttle setup for chevy but not sure it would work on my pontiac and not sure if it had kickdown and throttle both.and is the kickdown cable the same on 301 and 400??? 80TA,pontiac 400,edelbrock carb,accel wires,dual exhaust,dynomax mufflers,no cats. CE subframe connectors. 99TAWS6 ..lots of mods.

Well just for info for anyone that might need to know
the 301 I got didn't seem to similar to the firebird.What I wound up doing is transadapt makes a fitting that was used with my edelbrock carb..I already had a transadapt for the throttle but someone didn't put on or lost the kickdown part of the transadapt.I got another one and it worked fine. I am happy to have kickdown again..I know you can downshift but its just nice to have it done for you sometimes.I also reconnected my vac modulator on the trans at same time..It shifts much better now. 80TA,pontiac 400,edelbrock carb,accel wires,dual exhaust,dynomax mufflers,no cats,3.42 gears.CE subframe connectors to be installed.On order B&M quicksilver. 15.1 at 96mph 2.47 60ft uncorrected tazzo vpc. 99TAWS6 ..lots of mods.13.35 at 109 2.27 60ft uncorrected tazzo vpc. 1900 ft altitude.
