Guys whats up with these things..some are missing some don't seem to want to go in all the way.hit them with hammer not much luck.Are they use once type of things..is there a trick to getting them to go in or to pull them out without destroying them.Does the dealer still sell these ,haven't checked yet.
I was kind of thinking maybe take off my bumper covers.and paint them up and make them nice and then put them back on the car..I know you can break the plastic pins off but is that the right wayt to do it.Knowing gm these things might be 5 bucks each..

80TA,pontiac 400,edelbrock carb,accel wires,dual exhaust,dynomax mufflers,no cats,3.42 gears.CE subframe connectors to be installed.On order B&M quicksilver.
15.1 at 96mph 2.47 60ft uncorrected tazzo vpc.

99TAWS6 ..lots of mods.13.35 at
109 2.27 60ft uncorrected tazzo vpc.
1900 ft altitude.

Originally in '79 & '80, these fasteners were an orangish-amber color. The same fastners were clear when ordered from Pontiac dealership in late '81...bought a shoebox full of them at that time. Would bet some body shop supply company sells these for less than $5 each.

To get them off, I've always broken the fastners

Ok so whats the trick to get them in..
