Default Paint for RARE manifold

Guys looking for suggestion on what to do with these nice looking manifolds. Have the 2 1/2 ram air set. I see some ceramic coat theirs and some paint . What is cost I could of had them do them but just wanted to get them. I see POR 15 makes a grey paint kit any feedback? What color should they be kept ? Any help ideas would be appricated thanks Doug

The POR-15 manifold paint is great.

Long-lasting and inexpensive.

My RARE '67 HO repros after 5 years and 30K street miles, in sunny CA.

Just put them on the car after letting them dry for a few days, never ever cure paint in an oven that you are going to cook food in.

I used that paint and it works great. I dried my manifolds out on the grill so all the moisture was gone, wire brushed them and painted when they cooled. 6 years and they still look good.

I ordered the por 15 grey and it will be here on Wednesday . The one question I have is in past por 15 was always used over rust. In my case with these manifolds being brand new with no rust do I just paint them. Any type of prep before? I'm Sure it will tell me on can but just getting ahead . Thanks Doug

I did mine with POR-15 as well. Just bathe them in laquer thinner, apply the paint (it's really thin once it's mixed) with a foam brush, and then cure them on the BBQ for the time specified. I did it that way, 3 coats, curing each, and they've held up great for 4 years.

I used the manifold gray on mine- anyone ever touch up the paint? If so, any special prep?
