Default 1964 GTO gasser

I have a 64 GTO (it's real) gasser drag car. It was set up with a blown 455 and a Lenco 4 speed. I've only made 10 attempts down the strip, none of them successful. I got it out last summer and tried 7 or 8 passes but struggled with a hydraulic throw out bearing setup. I smoked a $2200.00 McCleod Softloc clutch. I sent it to a guy and after 2 months I picked up the parts because he hadn't touched them.

Over the winter, I bought a new Ram racing clutch with an adjustable pressure plate. I installed that and went back to mechanical linkage. The first time out, the clutch held fine but I scattered the rearend at the starting line. I put in pro gears with all new bearings. The next time out (and last), I rolled it off of the starting line and took a pretty easy drive down the track just to make sure the diff was ok. When I got back to the pits, I found that the engine had spewed oil all over due to excessive crankcase pressure. Number 3 cylinder, which was sleeved by Kaufmann, failed a leak down test. I've had enough and I'm parting it out and selling everything.

The car is all steel except for the bumpers. It will come ready for your engine and tranny, my Lenco setup is available for extra money. It has MSD Digital 6 ignition, Autometer gauges, rebuilt 12 bolt with spool and 411 gears, 57" ladder bars, Speedway straight axle kit, radiator with electric fan, wheelie bars, all new tires and wheels, disc brakes on all four, 10 gal aluminum fuel tanl, Holley Blue pump and canister filter, and more that I'm sure I'm forgetting.

$15,000.00 firm

Sorry you had that frustrating experience that's a neat start for someone.

If buying with the car, I'd include the trans, a Ram racing clutch with one launch on it, Lakewood bellhousing, new clutch fork, throw out bearing, and linkages etc. for an extra 5k

Can this car be streeted? Do any trades? I am interested if it wouldn’t be too hard to put it on the street and you would consider a trade.

I think it would take too much to turn it into a street car. Thanks for asking though
