Default 55 Door trim removal. Ugh!

The '55 Star Chief doors that I picked up are rock solid & I thought I would pull this deluxe trim off, cause if a Chebby guy buys the doors, well he wont give a rats gluteus about the trim.
It's too nice to not save.
To get the big stainless "sweeps" off, the glass likely should come out but the 2 top screws are covered by the trim on the door tops.
Now to get the short forward trim piece off, there is 1 stupid screw that requires pulling the weather strip & then the vent window out.
Lots of screws. Wow.
To strip & paint the door would require a ton of labor just to get to this screw!

They certainly didn't build them with any thought of refurbishing them 60 odd years later, for sure. I have just been through this same process when I stripped all the stainless of my '57 to repair and polish, so I feel your pain.

That trim may be worth nearly as much as the door.
