I wouldn't fall for that... BUT.. I'll bet it's pretty.

I have a two-tone muscle car page on FB:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1677389095611174/

I think they're cool only when the color combo is not something that could be replicated with a vinyl top. A lot of color combos were possible.

when we bought my 67 Lemans back in 97 it was a single color gulf turquoise. a couple of years ago the paint was really tired and it was time to repaint. After stripping the paint I found holes filled in where vinyl roof trim was originally installed. First time I really looked at the data plate expecting to see it had a vinyl roof originally and that's when I discovered the KC paint code showing it was originally a two tone car. sure enough, under 5 coats of paint I find the cameo ivory on the roof underneath it all. After so many years of having the car all one color we decided to take it back to the original two tone. We were really happy with the results and it's kind of funny that the car gets more comments about how nice it looks than it ever did as the single color. Most people I talk to about it seem to think two tone stopped in the 50's. Here's a couple of pictures, I forgot how ugly those later model trim rings looked on the car, these are older pictures before we put a nicely restored set of the 14" rallys with the correct style trim rings on it.

Default Two tone paint

After reading this thread I 'm leaning towards keeping my 66 in the original Red on red with a painted cameo ivory roof. It was in primer when I bought it and was thinking of candlelight cream my favorite color not sure I'd like that with the red interior. I haven't seen any red with the painted ivory roof so I'm thinking it would be kinda cool. Anybody have one or a photo?
thanks

I’d say the Cameo Ivory is a straight-up White.

Here is a photo of my solid Cameo Ivory ‘66 with the lower fender trim removed. Pure white.

That GTO is not mine.

It’s just a sample I have on file.

64-67's have clean break lines so to me two-tone is a natural.

I had a 72 Chevelle 4 door that was gold/white. Wife (soon to be ex) wanted it purple so it end up being Plum Mist/Cameo. Actually looked nice.
