1971 TA Master?
This was from a '71 TA supposedly. You know the story but I'm not a big numbers guy. Any help?

Wick, You need to look at the two letter code on the front scalloped area on the top side of the master. It is a machined pad in a semi circular pattern. If it is from a 1971 A or F body it should be coded BE.

I've seen MCs with both the BE code and an EB code. I thought EB was correct for the 71 pontiacs and BE was for something else.

Pat the EB master is the 1970 code but I would imagine that some early 71痴 could have had them as well.

This is an EB. It's not easy to get a clear pic of the B but it's a B. The guy had painted it with some sort of epoxy paint that was a little on the thick side.
Not sure if the top is original but the rubber is long gone.

EB is correct for '70-72. There are also large and small font EB's to be found. Some say the large font was for 'A' bodies only.

I bought many 2nd Gen parts from a guy in Arkansas, he was early 2nd Gen only. Owned many '71-'74's over the years, HO's and SD's only. Bought several new with the master in question coming from his '71 he purchased new and was hit broadside a few years later.
That's the story he told me.

Hey Jim, what's up? For you I'll make a sweet deal. Do you need it for your '71?
I'm willing to sell, it's in my parts inventory with no use for it. Hell, I almost threw it away a few months ago.

The original master cylinder off my old 1971 Trans Am. It was a Norwood car, with a build date of 02B. You've gotta look hard to see the EB stamping.

My 71 TA has its original EB master as well. 12C VN car. I also have another EB and booster that came off of a March VN car.

Anytime Jim. Greg was kind enough to give some info with a resto place for rebuild and detail.

BTW, I have the original rotors and drums from this care as well. Are they worth keeping for someone? I say that but the rotors do or do not have the groove in '71. I want to say my '71 GTO had grooves.

Looks like the date codes are incorrect.
The drums are 399360, I've had a few PM's about them.
