Photos of Round Port Manifolds or Headers installed on a 65 A-body?
I just removed 2" headers of unknown origin from my 65 LeMans. I'd prefer to replace them withthe Repop manifolds but am also looking at the OBX stainless headers. The only reason I'd consider the headers is the cost difference so not interested at all in Dougs at all
I was interested how either of the above mentioned options fit so was hoping there would be some photos available. I hadn't planned on removing the headers at this time but I'm rebuilding the front suspension and couldn't remove anything with the 2" headers in place.

Factory headers won't fit on the early A-body models
Only 1968 and up.
Early frames are too narrow for any of the cast-iron 'O' port manifolds. You're stuck with headers. |

They make round port ram air manifolds for the early chassis but I don’t have a picture of them installed

I stand corrected......they do make a modified set that they claim fits 1964-65
But they note that you'll have to grind on the cross-member to make them fit.
I wouldn't be too excited about grinding on the crossmember myself. Good luck! |

The note actually reads
“These are our famous RM-4-OS modified to fit in 66-67 Abody. In the 64-65 Abody you may need to do some minor grinding on rear of underengine xmember to achieve good fit. Many 64-65 customers have also attained excellent fit by relocating engine .250-.500" to rear.” I’ve also seen mention that a 1/4” plate under the frame mounts would correct an issue if it occurs. I was hoping someone who has installed these might chime in to offer first hand insight. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
