Can you move that adjusting bracket over to the bolt on the water pump and get the alt closer?

On my 67, there's a small spacer to make the alt miss the cover and line up the pulley.

You mean where there is a gap in this picture between the alt and the al. bracket?

Anyone have a picture or diagram of this long bracket for ms with no ps?

I can't believe how hard it is to find pictures of this setup.

Yes. You can make one out of a piece of aluminum round stock.

Does this look right? They seem to line up better with the bracket on the front side of the alternator.
