How to install lower fan shroud clips
Can someone please snap me a picture of how to install the lower fan shroud clips for first gens?
So there’s is one bolt in the top of the shroud and then Firebird central just sent me two little clips for the lower shroud. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...LJ0VDYL8&psc=1 Like those. No idea how they go on. I had just had a zip tie on the bottom, but it makes the circle diameter distort. I tried to install a 19” fan today and it rubs. So I need to install it so it has its correct rigidity. Someone help me out, what am I missing.

It’s hard to get a good pic with it installed, but the clip attaches to the radiator and the bottom of the shroud slides into the clips. On an original style radiator, there’s a little tab they attach to.
Hope this helps |

Yeah see I wonder if that’s the problem. I have an eBay special aluminum job. Bolts up to the core but I’m wondering if it’s missing provisions for that mounting.

I circled the two clips on the original radiator that yours does not have.

I wonder if I can get cute and just super glue or JB weld the clips to the tanks in the right spot.
I was looking at the Cold Case site and I cant even confirm that they have the mounting spots for the clips. But its hard to tell when you are just staring at shiny aluminum. It all blends in. Looking at the clips on the amazon link, can someone confirm if the side with the spikes are radiator side or shroud side? For reference if I try to glue them on.

I would think the teeth bite into the plastic shroud to keep them on the shroud when you remove it.

I run a Aluminum Radiator too. I used Industrial Strength Velcro on the bottom of the shroud, along the bottom panel of the radiator. I could not see a way to make it work, unless I fabricated brackets, and welded them on, before mounting the radiator.

From a hole I drilled in the bottom of the shroud and around the radiator support.

Cool. I bought a couple new clips and some in weld. For $10 I think I’m going to take a shot at making the permanent mounts. But if that doesn’t work I will try your method.
