POA (Pilot Operated Absolute) , not the VIR (Valve In Receiver) system used in later years. There was a muffler on the passengers side front inner fender.

Will have a drier and a muffler. The whole AC system is like a '71, and very similar to a 1970. The ;73 to say 76 are very similar as well. The '72 has a POA valve on the suitcase facing front. The '73 and up use a VIR system, which eliminates parts . These valves separate the high pressure side from the low pressure side, to put in basic terms.

Should be on a bracket near the end of the radiator on the pass side, by the evap tank and the hole for the Condenser. Ill try to get a pic when I can. Mounted vertical. Glass on top.

Actually ‘73 still had the POA valve. Late ‘72 and ‘73 were basically the same as ‘71 except they had crimped hose assemblies instead of the barbed fittings with clamps. |
