Default FH Code Radiator Wanted

I am looking for an FH code radiator. Tanks should be CA and IV. Would also be interested in just the FH tag. Send a pm or text 304.859.7509.

Thanks,

Bob

Bob, what is this application? 72? 3 or 4 core? I need to look at my 72 (350 with AC) and see what it is. I assume 3 core but with AC (?). where are codes?

Dunno if it's a 3-row or 4-row radiator, but here is some additional info the '72 Firebird FH radiator usage. The FH radiator was installed in ALL manual transmission equipped V8s, either with A/C or the HD cooling option.

The radiator assembly code is on a removable (stamped sheet metal) tag attached to the rear of the driver's side tank-to-core seam.

Here's the '72 Firebird radiator usage chart from the MPC.

If your car is M/T, it should have the FH coded radiator. If it's an auto, it should have an FB coded radiator.

So looked and mine is 3 row. Assume shroud needs off to see tag, so assume FB, should be original. Should be coming out as I have 4 core to use.

Default Radiator

I have a really nice 73 T/A 4 speed A/C Radiator from a 60,000 mile car that I parted. It is in storage in Parkersburg WV so I can't check the code till next weekend when I get home. PM me if of interest. Rick

Thanks for the reply. Please check and let me know, but the MPC lists FT as the HD code in 1973.

Yeah, I am definitely a dreamer. What are you talking about Dave tacking in? I want to make sure I am not missing something. Are you talking about the illusive "FH" tag?

If I cannot find one, I'll probably just get a Coldcase radiator from PY and paint it black.

Have you had a chance to check the radiator yet?

Congrats on scoring the new car. Nice to see someone else on here from WV.

Hah. Clearly I overcame my feelings of guilt sometime around brunch (when I was able to slip away from the family), but alas it was too late.

I'm sure there is another one hiding out there somewhere just waiting to be placed into service in a deserving car....

Call Ed Larsen in Norway Michigan and tell him your needs. He can build one from scratch since the tanks are reproduced and he can get the cores.
Run it while you keep looking for the tag for ungrading.
Cheers Dreamer

The tanks are actually "IA" and "CV"
