On Sunday, April 23, our club, the Badger State Chapter of POCI is meeting with God's Country Pontiac Association at Chula Vista to discuss the June 24-28 Convention. We will meet at 2:00 in the parking lot. This will give our club members an opportunity to look at the property so we know what to expect when performing our volunteer tasks.

We have had very good success in getting club members from both clubs to volunteer to help at the Convention with event set-up, registration, tech inspection, classifying cars in classes for popular vote, assisting the judges for points-judged cars, security, tour guides, trailer parking, show car parking, and swap meet assistance. We still need volunteer help in some areas.

Our club members are excited about being part of the first-ever POCI Convention held in Wisconsin. We're looking forward to seeing many of you at this beautiful site in Wisconsin Dells!

Sorry, the meeting at Chula Vista tomorrow is at 1 PM, not 2 PM.

Mike, this was just another planning/staffing meeting for the host clubs. Nothing earth-shattering. Probably shouldn't have been posted in here as this thread is really intended for attendee information

Things look like they are pretty well on track for registration & car counts. I still need to do the paperwork, Can't wait!

Which day would be best to see all show vehicles? Set up Sunday, Monday?
All cars exected to be there by Tuesday or...?
My schedule doesn't allow for me to be there Sun-Thur. Would like to pick a day or two when all the cars will be there.

Thx

Points Judging is Wednesday and Popular Vote is Thursday. I would believe these two days are when the most cars will be on site. Monday and Tuesday are when most of the driving tours are taking place so many cars will be out on those.

Getting close!! We're going to have a great time in Wisconsin Dells! One of the biggest, maybe THE biggest, Pontiac Convention ever! And, it's in Wisconsin.

Can't wait to see you all.

How will I be able to identify you there? Are you going to advertise your Tr-Power rebuilding services with your car display???

I'll have my wife's '64 GTO Gulfstream Aqua car in the points-judged area--that's separate from the popular vote area. Call or text 920-450-1040 if you want to find me.

So, I am attending event, bringing a fellow Pontiac enthusiast. Neither of us are POCI members. What will I need to do to attend event? Register? Join POCI?
We only plan to attend car show, swap meet. Not sure of any thing else...plans might change when we get there (possibly Tuesday. Not cruising...

You are welcome to attend & see the cars and swap meet without POCI membership. I encourage you to join POCI and register for the convention. The Smoke Signals monthly magazine alone is with the membership fee.

Look for my wife's '64 GTO in the points judged area. It's Gulfsream Aqua.

I'm an old bald guy with a red '64 GTO had on and red Badger Chapter shirt. I only smile like this when I'm in one of my GTO's!! Hope to meet you there.

Ready to go!! We're leaving at 9 tomorrow am for Chula Vista. Somewhere in the area of 600 people registered for the Ames Party Tuesday night. Can't wait to see all those Pontiacs!!

I'm taking four restored Tripowers, a '64, '65, & '66, plus a few extra Tripower carbs to sell.

See you there!!

Just returned from Wisconsin Dells. 434 cars & 650 people registered for the convention!! Many enjoyed the road cruises, the drive-in movie night, hot laps with our Pontiacs at Dells Motor Speedway, Ames Performance Night, riding the DUCKS on the beautiful waters of Wisconsin Dells, tours of the Ringling Brothers Circus Museum in Baraboo, and the trips to the Harley Davidson Museum. But most of all, we enjoyed seeing fellow Pontiac lovers and seeing their excellent cars.

My first POCI convention was in 1981 at Springfield, Illinois. The quality of cars has improved by an unbelievable amount since then--with each convention showing better cars. The later Trans Ams, G8's, G6's, & GTO's were there in good numbers. The big cars from the 50's through the '89's showed up with some very pristine Grand Prix's, Bonevilles, Catalinas, Star Chiefs, station wagons. There were also many GTO's from '64 through '73, with some near-perfect examples.

Add to all that---we won GOLD with my wife's '64 GTO. We had it judged in the modified class due to the 434 cubic inch engine, '67 HO exhaust manifolds, our version of the parchment interior, and a few other touches we've added that were not stock.

I'll post some pictures from the convention soon.

Here are a few of the cars at POCI. Our group took four cars--three driven to the Dells, one trailered--all four won trophies.

I sold two Tripower setups--a '66 and a '65. All the vendor's spots were sold.

It was a fun time with our friends & family!! We met a few new friends, too! I was hoping to see a few of you there, and I did, but not as many as I hoped for.
