Default Door Panels and internals 69 vs 71

Currently my project 71 has Electric Windows and a brown color interior. I have a usable set of black door panels from a 69 (different Door Handle) then 71.

Can I take the door internals from the junk 69 doors and insert into the 71 doors to be able to use the 69 black panels

so basically swapping the 69 internals into the 71 doors to make manual windows and black panels with the 69 door handles

Car is not going to be original 400 E heads 342 limited slip Engine rear end and brakes and suspension is complete. Now to interior

Thanks for any help.

Are you converting it from electric to manual windows too? I would think you're going to have some pretty serious challenges.

I’m not 100% sure about the 69 GP but I know that 69 A body door guts are completely unique. In 70 the whole system was completely redesigned. The reason I say I’m not sure about the 69 GP is that unlike the A body in 69 the 69 GP had the door beam like the A body got in 70.

The door windows & regulator with the guts from the 69 GM A-body and 69 Grand Prix are identical. The difference is the door latch that is bolted to the door. is different from A-body to Grand Prix. Same holds true with 1970-72 GM A-bodies & G-bodies... they are the same, BUT I don't think you can install the window, regulator and guts from a 70 into the 69 shell unless you modify the bottom of the door. The 70-72 has a pole that the window track rides on and I don't think the bottom of the door has that provision. Now I'm sure you can make ANYTHING work with a hammer and a welder but... If you are going with 70-72 doors, the 70 door is slightly different than the 71-72. There is a reinforcement piece at the top of the 71-72 door that the 70 door does not have. Also, the 69 door has a different inside release, so you will have to swap things over to the 70-72 doors and remove the 70-72 door release mount. Hope that helps... Gp Mike
