I bought my shocks from NAPA and they fit my 63 GP. Maybe they gave you the wrong ones.

I have an old (1983) Monroe shock absorber catalog. It shows the same front shocks fit 1961 - 1970 big Pontiacs, as well as a number of other cars: 1963 - 1982 Corvettes, 1957 - 1964 Fords and Mercuries, and some others, so it should be a reasonably common part.

Default Exchange shocks

The set they gave me had holes in them that wouldn’t match up. I went back and they got me a set without holes with slots so to speak that you can match up the hole.

Thanks for the replies.
