Default Fuel Pump Choices

Hi Guys, replacing fuel pump. Got a new Carter for $28 bucks. Looking at new vs old, the carter is lighter and has that exposed spring. Old one is heavy and the spring is internal.

Should I slap on this Carter or keep looking. Seems this Carter may not be as robust..

What carb are you using? Makes a difference as to which pump you want.

The carter should do fine if your talking all stock. I don't see why the exposed spring would be a problem. It will be exposed to oil splashing on it and might actually help keep the spring cooler. I have that same pump on my one stock 69 gto and it works fine. No starvation going through the gears.
