From everyone's experiences and opinions, where is the best source to buy reproduction wiring harnesses?

I have used M&H as well as Lectric Limited both in the past. I have also used Ames, Year One, and Performance Years.

Maybe it does not matter, but I just thought I would ask for some opinions.

M&H gets my vote. I have used them in 3 of my cars and will buy from them again. Nice quality.

Good experience with both Lectric Limeted and M&H. You list Ames and Year One but they are not actual manufacturers.

Agree with Norwood. Both M&H and Lectric are equally good. Problem with M&H is they "batch" build harnesses and if the harness you want isn't in stock it could be 6 or 8 weeks until they build another batch. Lectric Unlimited will usually construct a harness within a week or two if not in stock. Ames buys from M&H I believe.

Whichever supplier you use you should assume the harness will not be in stock and should order it well in advance of when it will be needed.

I used Lectric limited on my 65 vette and the harnesses were spot on! I just bought forward lamp and engine harnesses for my GTO from another supplier and they don't want to stay snapped to the original main harness at the firewall junction. Maybe my original harness connector has issues? I haven't looked into to it very far yet.

American Autowire is another one. Colorado's Wellington Classics will give you the best price. I don't think any of them will exact match originals. Which harness(s) are you looking at replacing?

American Autowire Factory Fit harnesses is what have been using. Excellent product. Plan on ordering a few dash harnesses late this Winter.

American Autowire absorbed J Parker Wireworks early this century, mention that for those that have used exact restoration harnesses from this company before.

I 've found the fuse blocks to be incorrect, clips to be the wrong colors and no courtesy sockets installed (70). The sockets they have are also the later style.

I've used M&H and have had very good experience. Their stuff is typically identical to a Packard OE harness, except for their own part number tag.

I think M&H uses the same parts suppliers as A.A. and when I asked them to send me a pic of the fuse block, they said they wouldn't have one until a harness order was placed.

It's been over 7 years since this was active does anyone have new information?
Needing a new harness for my 72 Firebird. Going to be V8 with factory guages, late model alternator, HEI distributor, no AC, 4 speed.

I used M&H for the majority of the harnesses on my '73 Bird with a couple of American Autowire accessory type harnesses.

I did an new American Autowire dash and engine harness last year. I'll try to get a pic of the fuse block tomorrow.

I got this from Summit. Its a bit later car (79) but everything was there and worked great. I only swapped the engine compartment as it had been hacked up pretty good, the front light harness was fine so I kept it. Kind of a shame as the new one was so nice, but for the cost I will clean up what is original.
