Default PY Catalog

Dear PY,

On page 44 you list Shift Knobs for 70-74 as 3sp and 4sp Lucite round knobs. Weren't the round Lucite knobs only for the years 67-69? I believe that 67 was the only year that offered white Lucite and then 68/69 were all black. 1970 shows that the style changed and that the round knobs were disc.

Let me know if I am wrong.

Marc

There was definitely a 3 speed walnut knob for at least 1969 and 4 speed walnut knob for at least 1969 and 1970. We have an original that we considered producing. I believe the 3 speed knobs we list in our catalog are the black and white knobs which were rare but aviailable. The 4 speed walnut knobs for 1969 and 1970 are available as well.

The listing of the black knobs in the PY catalog are the ones that I think are in question. They are listed for the years 70-74 and are black Lucite not walnut. Everywhere I look they are 67-69 from GM (not 70-74).

When you said 'lucite' it threw me off. We normally only use the term lucite for the clear plastic. The 3 speed black knobs were made available just because we've had requests for them. The 4 speed knobs were bigger by 1970 so we made the 3 speed big as well. Not sure if they are a correct reproduction.

I am in pursuit of a correct 3spd 69 black round knob if it is available.

If you know what is the diameter of the knobs that are listed for 70-74?

Appreciate the help Chris and if it counts I placed an order with PY

We have

RPI674A 2"
RPI674B 2 1/8"

I'm not sure if either are the exact diameter. I do know that the thread hole is universal and has an insert so you can change thread patterns. Once installed, they look pretty original.
