I wish I'd had my camera with me last week. I passed by the local tire shop and spotted a '65 GTO convertible having some new radial T/As mounted on it's Cragars. White with white top and blue interior.

That Trans Am appears to have a Buick engine installed.

I thought about starting a thread like this a while ago, but never got around to it. For some stupid reason right after christmas this year I saw 3 or 4 gtos and a couple of first gen birds. I saw a gorgeus 69 limelight green 400 convert with tt's on it. The other car I couldn't beleive was 70 liberty blue judge, was it real? A 68 gto convert very ratty and rusty. And a 74 either ventura or goat that was gold, I couln't get a good look. And a couple more quick glances, told the wife it was a sign that a gto should be next...lol.

Spotted yesterday driving North on Wayne Road just North of Ford Rd. Looked to be a very Original 1967 Tempest 4-door, sounded like a OHC-6 Automatic car, unfortunaly this was as close as I could get before it turned off.

Just saw a 66 or 67 LeMans or GTO drive through the neighborhood last week. Someone down the street has a 1st gen Firebird.

Well, it is hard to admit, but the Pontiac was not the highlight of this sighting. Both the GTX (440) and the Chevelle (427) are off-the-charts. He says that if he had to have only one car it would be the Olds. But… when he has to go on a trip he takes the Grand Prix. Why? I know it will make it anywhere I want to go without question. I seriously doubt that any of the other cars would not fall into that category. The gentleman who has this collection is bar none the most talented machinist and engine builder I have ever run across. He also secretly does body and paint work that is incredible. He owned a body shop for a long time as well as a parts store, speed shop etc. He now only does repairs and machine/engine work as he has for nearly 50 years. I went to drop off some control arms to have the bushings pressed in, and he gave my son and I a hands-on crash course in paint and body work for well over an hour from the truck cab in primer in the shop to the finished Chevelle that he fully sanded from 800-3000 AFTER getting it back from the paint shop (guys he has worked with for 30 years). They did not see anything wrong with it. According to him the clear looked white. I am pretty sure they are not making men like this anymore.

Two of my fellow Pontiac enthusiast's always refer to the 73-up cars as ugly. I like them more and more, as time goes on, especially since you don't see them on the road, anymore...
