Default Note 8 smart keeps dropping calls and losing connection

My smart phone keeps losing connection at home here in rural Latrobe. Lots of trees, big big water tank above me to the east about 800 ft away. High tension power lines to the west about 1500 ft. To the north open valley, to the south nothing but trees. Right now no 4g or bars it fades in and out. I was told the local airport is the problem. They can land all but the largest planes, Spirit flys out .they are about 1.5 miles away. Now my 4g is back. Any ideas?

The airports are supposed to block 5G not 4G.

It is typical to have a sad signal but it could be attributed to many things. Does it work better on the second floor? If so, you could get an LTE booster antenna and put it on the roof.

If yer phone works elsewhere (eg: city), then it is unlikely the phone.

I'm out in the country so my signal is pretty spotty. I live with it as I rely on data anyways and the wifi is good. I use Skype for txt and calls if I need.

It seems when leaves formed on trees around me it got worse in 2023. Years ago it wasnt this bad. We have a one story ranch. I talked to my furnace man he drops calls all the time where I live within 4 miles. That's why airport sounded a possibilty. When I was at Norwalk I rarely lost a call. Maybe a new sim card ?

Leaves aren't typically an issue.

If you drop a different SIM from another carrier you may have better luck. I know the US has many different cell providers and some have better coverage than others but depends where you live.
