Default 60 catalina

tuneing up 60 catalina auto. has o.e. engine not sure what size. Set dwell at 30 Not sure how to set timing, there is a pointer on the front cover and two lines on dampner.

It has a 389. One of the marks is TDC the other is 6 BTDC. Line up the pointer with one of the marks and listen to the motor, now line up the next mark. If the motor speeds up, the timing is set. If the motor slows down, go back to the 1st mark.

Also unplug the vacuum advance to the distributor, and plug the source, to set the timing.
