Default Flywheel Question

I have read alot in these forums about 2.50 cranks and 2.75 cranks and flywheels.

Now my question. If you bore out an old Schiefer flywheel with a 2.50 crank hole to 2.75can you just "bolt it up" to the larger crank hole and will the overall flywheel diameter and tooth count play into the change over?

Guess the question is, is there a difference in flywheel diameter and tooth count by different engines?

Thanks

Jay

I purchased an NOS Shiefer flywheel a few years ago that had the 2.75 register. Tried to bolt it to a 455 and found that the block mounted starter sat too far forward to engage the teeth on the flywheel.
