Isn't THAT interesting!

Formula 400 is a one year only model & Trans am is 33 years.

I think they offered the Formula 400 for several years.

Then the '74s in my garage are badged with some aftermarket emblems, as they say "Formula 400".

Your 74's are Firebird Formula's with a 400 engine option.

As previously indicated,1970 is the ONLY year for the Formula 400 MODEL.

In 1971,Pontiac prostituted the model name to Formula,so they could offer 2 bbl.350's & round port 455's.

In the later 70's,they watered it down even further by offering 301's & sbc 305's in Formulas.

ALL 1970 Formula 400's were exactly that,400's.

These were both very cool items. The Formula 400 hanger looked to be in better condition than the Trans Am one however. I look for these types of collectibles and I have never seen any of these before. I have one of the 69's but have never seen the 1970 pieces. I am pretty sure that either one of these would have done $400.00 plus on ebay a few years ago.

I saw a few of them go through ebay (1970 versions) at least 6 years ago in lesser condition for way more $$$.

i really thought they would go higher, but my buddy was happy with the sale. it was double what he was going to charge me for them. i would have hung onto them for awhile but they would have ended on ebay eventually. i just would have felt guilty to make that kind of profit off of a long time friend. he does have some very neat stuff stashed away.

I saw some 1st gen versions of these on Ebay a couple of years ago. Don't remember what they sold for, but I wish I had bought them.

I was lucky enough to get one of the 1st gen ones from that group on ebay. He listed them all seperately. I would have to go back and look what I paid for it but I ended up with the purple 326 version. They did strong $$ at the time. They were all different colors with gold foil and they started with the base 6 cylinder Firebird and ended with the Firebird 400. They were all in mint condition and never hung. This was the first and last time I saw these available anywhere as well.
