you already have a tranny to back up a 500hp poncho. butler sells chevy to pontiac adapters for about $50 if you dont want to make one yourself. not everyone here has big money rides. i bought my '65 about 5 years ago for $3500 and it had a 180hp 400. cant always start out making the big horses. if your chevy is at that point now, i understand why you would want to keep it. if not, do a little horse trading with the big block. pontiacs are not that hard to find. and if you find a chevy guy with one, you may get it with some cash for your chevy. i have less then $10,000, with purchase price, in my car now. hardly big money. it can pull low 12's to high 11's and i can still drive it to iowa and back. good luck dude.

If I was trading anything, it would be the firebird off for a camaro, any takers?

Not to be rude, it's just what I like. I like Pontiacs, I just can't afford the ones that really turn me on.

PONPON put what you want and can afford. Like you said if yall all dont like it buy me one. I'm in line for any free 455's BUT the purists are not giving them away now are they to keep pontics powered by pontiacs. It's all about a budget and I also live on one.

If you guys want to bastardize your Pontiacs with Chebby motors go right ahead, but don't use budget as your excuse! If you keep your eyes open there are plenty of good deals to be had on Pontiac motors, both here on PY and in your local trader papers. I have bought good running complete 400's for as low as $400 and nicely built 455's complete carb to pan for $1500 or less.

That's a '76 hood on it. I think it's the best looking hood of that style. A guy keeps trying to sell me the right Formula hood for it, but I dont dig those.

I've got the solid motor mounts on the way from summit. Hoping to run mid 11's.

Goat Wagon 428; You are wrong, the over rated chevys belong in the dump, not the fords. (we enjoy both of them for lunch too much!!! but the fords are alot of fun to er, burp.)

Well, I'm not putting a chevy motor in the bird anymore, I traded my vette for a 4 link full drag '70 camaro. I have a pontiac 400 for the firebird now.
