I am swapping out my Holley for a Q-Jet. My question is, what bracket can I use if I am running a 700R4 trans? My current setup uses a Holley bracket designed for an overdrive. Any help will be appreciated. I am running a Performer on a 400.

I converted my trans to a 700R4 from a TH400 and am using a Q-jet. I bought a TCI adapter plate that is designed specifically for the Q-jet. It extends from the two rear carb bolt holes and further out so that the two cables (carb and trans) fit into the square holes in the end of the bracket. I ended up with two of these from my project and will let the extra one go cheap if you are interested.

An mid 80's olds wagon with the 200r4 and a q-jet has the perfect bracket that uses the 2 rear bolts on the carb to install.....grab the tv cable as well from a wrecker and your set. You will have to put a 1" spacer under the carb to make it all work. Should cost you all of 10-20 bucks including the tv cable.

Sorry I didn't copy you back sooner, but I've been out of town. Kinda hard to describe the bracket. It's zinc plated, overall length about 8". It's basically a flat piece with two 180 degree bend brackets that bolt to the base of the carb. The two square holes in the bracket are positioned to fit on the driver's side of the carb for the throttle cable and trans TV cable. I think that they can be purchased from Summit for about $32.00 plus shipping? I don't have a use for this one now. It was never mounted on the car. Let it go for $15 - about $20.00 with freight.
FYI, I'm flying into McAllen tomorrow and back to Dallas the same evening. If you're close to the airport you could just pick it up there.
