Went to Maple Grove tonite. 10.97@119.68 running fat. I need to buy a holley jet kit. I then bumped the timing from 34 to 38 total. Took my tires from 11# to 9.5#. Left the line and she stood up then broke loose. Threw a fan belt on the way down and had to be towed back to my trailer. Got real hot. Never got to see my second slip. Next shot will be at VMP.

Sounds like a typical Maple Grove night, I pulled into the water box, and the rotary car in front of me oiled the track down. I shut it off, went to restart, nothing!!!! Had to get jumped, when i finally did run, It bogged real bad, than broke up!!!! Glad to see you out Bud, Maybe we will have our stuff together for Pontiac @ Maple Grove.lol

Nice! Keep plugging away at it, Bud. Will we be seeing the bike trailer at VMP? Love those entries and exits.

No bike trailler for me anymore. I knew it was making more power during the burnout. First time I ever hit the rev limiter smoking the hides. Thats what throws the belt. I'm going to hook uo a burnout limiter and see if that solves the problem. I never saw them spray any traction compond last nite. Really poor prep job.

nice job Bud - congrats - and thanks for your help last week at Cecil. sounds like your coolant issue got resolved

I was at Atco last Thursday night with some friends testing - never saw so many oil downs, fires, breaking this or that - water being drug up to the starting line - yuk! long night for 2 passes - I do like the Thursday night 10 and 12 second index heads up race program they have, though.

I'll stick with the Pontiac events and the 1st Sat night at Cecil.

Conrats Bud on your 10 sec pass. #38 degrees !!?? Man. I am running 36 and cringe when I think about more timing. What heads are you running? I have been thinking about trying 40-42 degrees with a third gear retard. Have chickened out so far.The 10.5's are next you know.

Sorry I won't see you at VMP. I have a Super Stock race that week end at Cecil which I already have an investment in.

I am still in search 11's but did run a 12.19 on the rev limiter or running out of fuel the last 30 yards of track.
I would settle for consistent 12.0's !!!

Good luck at the Park

Congrats Bud on ten's!!!
Hey 60man i was looking at the 1/8 to 1/4 conversion and if you would have pulled as hard the last 1/8 you would have ran 11.98 or 99here's the link:

Thanks GV 455: I ran that equation myself. I should be solid in 11.90's but not running the full quarter at full power killed me!

I just reworked the quads and fattened them up.Will try a 6200 pill(rev.limit) and see what happens.

If I get time I am going to pull the heater and related items out. 50-60 lbs is 50-60 lbs lighter! I have already pulled the exhaust system off and other crap. Thanks for the link GV455.

Whoops. Sorry to step on your post Bud.
See you at Norwalk if not before.

Be cool.

Thanks for the encourgement everyone. Sometimes ya just want to scrap it all and buy a boat. lol

Troy, I'm running 5C's for heads. I'm also not pulling on the top end. I was told I should be well into the 120 MPH range with my ET. I can feel the car pull to 5600 in 3rd then it just kinds stays there. With the roller cam I thought It should pull a bit more then that. Thats why I bumped up the timing. I might try and make an Outlaw race before Norwalk. I can pull 2.5 hrs to Mason Dixon or 45 MIn to MG. for their Sunday Bracket race.

I hear ya Bud. I keep seaching for the best of both worlds. A good 1/8 time and great top end pull. I am running JBP 670's. I am told they like a lot of timing. I ran my 400 at 42 one time. Helped launch but slowed top end down.
I hope I haven't "over geared my cam". I like the big hole shot but I also need to run 11.90's -12.0's for my index.

Good luck to you Bud.

That's freaking awesome, Bud! Glad to hear that you got your issues straightened out and stayed away from the Grady White You will have to fill me in over a cold one some time. I have the TH400 in, but not totally happy with the shifts. They are real soft.
