I know it's been covered before, but I can't find it!! What kinds of things does everyone take along to the track? Tools, fluids, extra this/that. Just trying to gather a general "needs" kit together for the spring. Thanks everyone!!

Every time I try and take what I need I end up begging for more stuff.

Pontiaddict came up with a pretty good list of everything.

heres what I try and bring.
Grill, cooler, ice, More tools then you can carry. Floor jack, timing light, oil, water, compression tester, cooler, food, vacuum gage, gas, rags, trash bags, cooler, jets, air tank, windex, hose clamps, assorted nuts bolts and screws, shoe polish. Did I mention cooler.

Extra fan belts. The closest auto parts store NEVER has the correct size in stock if you throw one. Extra spark plugs.

xtra squirters? Don't you mean secondary metering rods? As well as what the rest said, I take a large sprayer, (the one you use in the garden to spray pesticides with). I spray the whole engine down with water between rounds. Also weather station (thermometer/hygometer, barometer),and something to record each run on.

I would add the following to the growing list: v-meter; spare fuses, ignition module, coil, rotor, fuel line, relays (fans, pumps); 0-30 psi tire guage for precise pressure checking of your slicks; flashlight; chairs; Ezup in the summer; tubeless tire repair plugun to get you home; and last, but not least, AAA Plus or Premier which provides free (after the membership fee) 100 and 200 mile towing!

Can't believe it, no DUCT TAPE? Always carry duct tape, first aid kit, extra header bolts, hack saw, flashlight with good batteries. Seriously, these are just a few items I've found myself needing, but the list is endless. Thing through every possible trackside scenario and you'll think of something else. Good luck. Ron

If you trailer your car, extra trailer lamp bulbs, spare tire, extra tow/tie down straps, bowl/metering plate gaskets. Carb to manifold gaskets, change of clothes,
battery charger and invest in a generator.
Did anyone mension "go-jo" and paper towels/ass wipe. And dont forget your helmet!!!

Why not take a whole Autozone store with you? One local 1/8th track (owner owns three speed shops) has a speed shop at the track open during the races.

I carry a load of stuff also, but rarely use any of it, usually friends borrow or use it.

Johnta1,

I have a shade that I can install on my trailer. Takes about 5 minutes to set up and works well. Just ask OMT or Cliff R.as they both set under it at the PSN a couple of years ago.

Floyd, have you seen Glenn Sedig's (I think) setup?
He has/had a tarp he puts over the length of his trailer.

Johnta1,

That is what I use. Have conduit pipe on all four corners of the trailer and a full frame for the top covered with the plastic tarp. When not in use, the frame breaks down to store on the trailer. The tarp and corners pieces store in covered pick-up bed.
