A power window on my 93 GMC Van only works for a few seconds. After is sits for a while it will work again. I assume that the motor is overheating and shutting down. Then, when it cools it works again.
Looking at internet sites with aftermarket parts, it appears that the motor is a "one size fits all", in that the same part number fits several yaers of several different GM vehicles. Is that true? Are the aftermarket parts good or should I get a more expensive GM part? Jim |

I know that this is older post but, I had to deal with a Dodge Intrepid power window motor and I found out that the Brush holder is cheap plastic and the brushes were hanging up and not touching the commentator of the motor. If you banged on the door or shut the door with the button pushed the window finally went up so it wouldn't rain in the car. they are making stuff so cheap nowadays that It's a wonder we don't see more breakdowns on the freeways.
