Thanks for the reply.
The engine was in my 70 GTO and was running really good before I pulled it 2 weeks ago. The engine has 46 heads dated Axx9 so I beleive that is the Jan, 1969. The engine is really clean and I believe it was only in the car a short duration. What would be a fair price to sell the engine for as I would like to sell it for a reasonable price without asking too much or too little.

The engine code you gave 481988, according to "GTO ALLEY" and "CLASSICAL PONTIAC" states that it is a 71 400 engine 300hp 8.1 compression, which came out with 96 heads. The 46 heads could have came off a 1969 428 engine 360hp 10.5 compression or a 1969 400 engine 290hp 10.5 compression. They also used 46 heads on the 350's in the 70's. Thats the info I pulled from these two sites.
