What's so special about this one? I've seen judges in better shape sell for a lot less.

Two reasons >>

1. The car is a full numbers car, and has the documentation that claims to prove it.

2. People are idiots and will pay good money for what looks to be junk :-)

This came out of the ad:

quote:
(part number 7029270, date code 2144 = 214th day of 1974).

How can a numbers matching carb be built 5 years later? I thought the remanufactured carbs had to clearly state that they were such as per the Clean Air Act?

How can it be a numbers matching car without the original transmission or carb?
It's also missing the Ram Air parts!
Did you notice that the drive shaft was in the trunk?
Interesting that there are no pictures of the engine compartment.
I think he's pushing it to claim that the potential value of this car is $50-$70K. $25-$45K restored is more like it, it's not a numbers matching car.
And, to me, the bid is already too high for what it is.

Everyone has got dreams. That car is a toad.

"Father and Son project"... more like Father Son and Holy Ghost project, because it is going to take a $$ miracle to bring this car back to the way it looked in 1975, muchless how it looked in 1969.

IMO - It's overpriced for a '69. I could see a '70 or '71 bring that money easily though.

It looks like #'s matching cars are getting harder and harder to find.

That carb is a Service Replacement unit and is a correct replacement for the original. That car is needing everything and I would not pay what that guy is asking. Jim

Thanks JK. I wasn't sure if there were SR carbs.

In the next month I will have my 69 Judge on the bay. Mine is a real turd and I will be happy to get over 7500 for it. I was actually going to list it this week because it looks better than that guys car. I dont know who would be paying that much for a car tha needs a complete. Last week one sold for 28k that was a frame off with a Sr block, real nice looking car

Overall I agree with everyone's comments....this car is going for more than it's overall worth. Yes cars with alot of number matching engine and drive train parts are getting hard to fing. Let's face it these cars are over 35 yrs old. I think his figure of 50-70K restored is correct . Because that is what the person will have into it when done if pays that for it !!
There are idiots that think they can get that kind of money and obviously idiots that will pay it !!
And this is just another idiot's opinion....just ask my wife .

By that car's price, I should get 25K for my running, driving 70 with original block.

How do we know this seller isn't telling friends to bump the auction up just under the reserve in hopes that it draws someones attention. The unsuspecting buyer thinks it's a rare car based on the amount of bids....I think the price is way high...Mine got to be worth 75k based on this warped thought process....Joe

I dont think you can get 70k for a ra3 car. I know you can spend over 50 to retore it but I think you will have a hard time getting the money out. I have seen some real nice 69 ra3's judge's sell in the high 20's and low 30's

Just how original can you say this Judge will be after its restored, absolutely all of the metal will be aftermarket. So the body will be cloned. I almost bought a #2+ 69 Judge this summer and it was for sale for a long time at $24,000. Had the SR block but the body was original.

so much for not getting 70K for a ra 3...

my favorite is 'reserve not met'.....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2496757972

restored 69-70 ram air 4's are 6 digit easy in this market...

When you start to see Lemans Coupes for sale for the Teens with half ass restorations. Then a real Judge for the low 20's seems like a decent deal to me.

I don't know why anyone would start with such a rusty car. Not only is it cheaper to restore a solid car, but do you really want to own a former rust bucket?

If anybody knows who the high bidder is on this car, have him get in touch with me....I
have many valuable sheetmetal parts that were recovered from the deck of the Titanic several years ago. They originally were off of a 1912
Stanley Steemer but should fit with a little
trimming and cutting. Also I have some primo
swamp land I would like to talk to him about.
