My car has picked up a bad habit of launching to the right when I release the tranny brake. When I foot brake it it leaves fine. What do I check? I've tried playing with the air pressure in the tires. ie: 1/2 pound less in the left side looking for less bite in the right. No help. I know my struts in the front are shot. The right one leaks bad.

Check your pre-load on the passenger bar. My car was VERY violent. I had 2 1/2 flats of pre load in it. I have since put it back to neutral and it goes as straight as an arrow

Replace those struts! It is amazing what effect they have when one isn't doing it's job. And the one on the right is mos likey not working with the leak as it is a pressure loss.

My front end is out of a 74 Capri. They don't make the struts anymore.

John, Could you explain how I put pre-load in. I don't have a clue on what I'm doing.

Bud, be very careful on your adjustmnets as too much or to little preload can make the car react violently on a tranny shift.

I always set my Ladderbar cars up with "NO" preload (maybe go to a 1/2 turn preload) and they always went straight and hooked hard.
You also need a 9/16" socket and a floor jack.

If your car is going to the right, you're going the wrong way with the air pressure. You want the passenger side to hook more. It'll drive it to the left.
You would want more pre-load in the passenger side or less in the driver side.

This is how I did mine, I put the rear on jack stands in the car and reoved both ladder bars. I marked the passenger and drive side. I used the drivers side as a reference bar. I measured from the front heim joint to each back heim joint. I wrote these measurements down. I then took the passenger bar and measured it. Top to front and bottom to front. Hopefully they are the same measurements. If not, you have to adjust them. Make the passenger side the same lengths as the drivers side (top and bottom). They should be neutral now. Put them back in the car but do not tighten the nuts. Put someone in the drivers seat that is the same weight as you. The front bolts should slide back and forth without much difficulty. If you can do this, the bars are neutral. IIf not, something is bent.
