i get to change my sig.

in spite of my ineptness and lack of understanding when it comes to advancing the cam, the car finally ran in the 11's at gainesville last night. it went 12.03 @ 112 with a 1.73 60' right off the trailer in the right lane. i made another run in the left lane 30 minutes later with no changes and went 11.97 @ 112 on a 1.68 60'. the track was hooking really well as evidenced by the fact that i was able to run 15 lbs. of air pressure and launch off idle. all 3 of my launches felt pretty close to a dead hook, especially the second one.

hopefully i can get the cam advanced to where it needs to be and go back to gainesville in a couple of weeks. i've got my fingers crossed for 7.40's/11.70's on the street tires at full weight, although i'm going to put on the slicks as soon as i get new axles.

Good job sounds like your sorting it out. Must be nice to race all the time we have our opening day this weekend but it will only be in the 40's & rain is expected. Also its at Norwlak so there will probably be over 500 cars so you won't get any runs in. Brian did you find any info out on your axles yet. Let me know.

Our opening day this coming weekend has already been canceled. Too wet to race!

Chance favors the prepared mind.

don't feel too bad guys, 2 of our 3 race dates in march were rained out; we got in our first points race 2 weekends ago. the weather yesterday was almost perfect...high 70's with sun on the track all day, high 60's with no wind or humidity after dark.

scott- i called moroso hoping to identify the rear without pulling an axle to no avail. they said there's no way to identify the rear from numbers/markings on the housing. i'm going to pull an axle on sunday, measure the specs on the sheet you faxed me and call you on monday to order the new axles. i know the axles in there now are 30 spline, but nothing beyond that. the new slicks are sitting in the living room now, so my motivation to get the axles is very high.

scott- we decided to stud the axles i have now instead of buying new ones. i spent the money i had set aside for the axles on a new set of 4 drag lites and skinnies for the front. if the car performs like i hope it will i should need those new axles in less than a year...

The last local track to finally open did last night. 35 degree weather, high winds on a green track meant noooooo traction and bad numbers and consistancy. But at least it was nice to get out finally. Should have stayed home though, lost on a double breakout 2nd round, he had me on the lights, a .514 to my .545 so oh well

Rob; Was there too. Atleast for the 1st time run, when my rt. axle walked on the shaft. Car wanted to kiss wall but I stood in it any way I couldn't agree more about the cold, Brrr, but it was dry and the furnace on the RV was going full blast. Havn't broke anything in 2 1/2 yrs. Guess my number was up and I escaped unhurt.
