Not a lot of info posted for the price that its going to comand. I cant believe how fast it shot up and that someone would pay top $ and not at least have it checked out.

I think it's well below top dollar at the current 50K bid. 70-75K?

A three speed car I recall, a "mistake".

I would have posted more info as he has to be sick of replying to emails about codes.

I think you are correct, judgeragtop, I recall it listed in Hemmings.
Its amazing to look at some of the feedback for GTOs (sellers, buyers) on ebay. You can see where one guy bought/sold three months ago and new owner is selling for #k or whatever more. follow the feedback. I dont know if it would worth the trouble to buy, ship, title, taxes, list on auction and ship for just a few grand.

This car has been on ebay a few times now for over a year and never meets the reserve.

Yes I believe this car was listed for 90K about a year ago. It's hard to believe that about 5 years ago I could have purchased carosel red Judge Convertibles ('69) in almost #1 condition for $42K. Most like conditioned convertibles were $20K or so. Wish I could have seen the future!

Oh well, I purchased a 70 455 Ram Air 4spd convertible just 2.5 years ago for the grand total of 17K (#2.5 condition.) Wish I could have purchased 2 or 3 more! Who the heck even knows what it's worth fully restored? It's the only one I've ever seen or heard of. Much rarer than the Judge.

I was told that the market prices for the year are "typically" set by auction results in Jan/Feb like in AZ (barrett-Jackson, Kruse etc.)

When I was 18y.o. in 76 you had to find muscle cars in a auto trader like publication, I cant recall the name,(think it was The Want Adds in MD). You only got to pick from local cars for sale also. It would have been nice to have bought a few RAIV cars and/or Judges. I would have settled for a few Hemis, COPO car, Yenko. I bet you could pick em up cheap when the gas crunch hit. Anyone know about the musclecar market (prices) and gas crunch era or have some collector stories?

What do you think will happen when we are gone? Is there a group of 5-10 year olds that will like musclecars, mainly Pontiacs or will the bottom fall out once we all start to die off?
I cant see the demand for all the different musclecars being there for a generation that will probably be into electric "how far can you drive without a charge" performance stuff.

We all knew these cars would be super valuable (just not the giant uptick), most of us just didn't want to pay the money at the time. Those COPOs and such were collectible from the start. You might get lucky here and there, but the bucks were up there all the same as they were about 3 yrs ago--just the proportions were different. Priorities were different too pre-911.

When I was shopping for my first car in about '81, I used to get the Auto Trader and drool over the 63-67 Vettes for 5500-6500. A mint 67 roadster rare collectible sold for about $11,000 top dollar. They were so far out of reach, that I settled for a '70 RT Challenger 340 for $650. They were asking $800 for it.

We know that the most common Judge will be worth $100K one day. Do we buy now at a low of 35K or worry that it won't be worth 100 in 10 yrs? I remember a guy that had 100K worth of Vettes in the 80s--he had 10 cars and we thought he was the king of the Vette world. 100K WOW! Today they would be how much?

I talked with a fellow that sells Pontiac parts and has brick and mortar buisness up North who was buying up cars back when the gas crunch hit. He had some interesting stories about how he could find RA, Judge cars all day long in local papers, found RAIV car off used car lot.
He said he thought that one day they would be valuable again to someone so thats what he spent his money on. People were selling performance gas guzzlers cheap as their wasnt much of a buyers market then, accordng to this fellow. Makes sense.
Remember sitting in gas lines for three/four hours? I do. We car pooled in high school sophmore year (73-74) due to gas crunch and recall 4 of us pushing car after running out in line more than once. Scary time not having gas.

How much do you think the manual three-speed trans hurts this car? My guess is that it's more valuable than an automatic, but a lot less valuable than a four-speed.

I talked to the guy a couple of months about the car. He will take 80,000 for the car. I didn't like the 3 speed and the open rear. To me its not worth more than about 60,000, but what do I know, I see acording to the bid that someone thinks its worth more that that.

I bought my PHS doc'd Silver '70 Judge Hardtop from this guy about 2. 5 years ago in Ellensburg, WA. He's had this green ragtop judge for years and it is indeed a very nice car. I agree and think that the 3-speed situation takes away from the value. Yes, it seems to be the same car that was on ebay maybe a year ago that never sold
