I currently have a 67 Le Mans @ 3800 lbs w/ driver and fuel w/ the following combo: 455 w/ 400 crank, stock rods, TRW's, cleaned up 6x heads, Holley Street Dominator, old 930 Holley 3 barrel, .525/.540 Comp Cam solid, Hooker 1 5/8 headers, I believe. 9.5 to 1. Turbo 400, 12 bolt w/ 4.11's. I would like to upgrade the iron heads w/ aluminum, as well as step up the cam, and possibly the intake and carb combo. 91 octane, Track car that sees weekend street duty...

Suggestions? Thanks in advance...

455 w/400 crank might be your biggest problem!

Do you mean 400 w/455 crank?

...11's with a Pump Gas 400 motor. Don't change a thing.

What 1/4mile tire diameter?
Full exhaust?
What Total Timing Advance????
What Rocker Arm ratio?

Change only 1 item & measure the track result.
No juice for you...it will bust.

I agree with H-I-S, if you are running hi 11's with 413ci, you've got that thing dialled in pretty good. If you decide to do E-heads you'll pickup from the loss of weight. To see any real change do some port on them, get a bigger intake and put a little more gear 4.30. You'll probably spin it a little higher. Watch out those rods are scary above 5700.

Or you could enjoy what you got and save to build a complete new big combo, Not just cubes but induction with a solid bottom end.

A little larger primary header would help. I used the 1 5/8 Hookers for 2 seasons then went to 2 inch Hedmans and picked up 3 tenths and 4 mph.

Fast Eddy, I have the 1 5/8 inch headers with 2 1/2 exhaust. My combo: 461, 16 heads ported to flow 250, 274XE, 800 dp, 9.4 comp, RPM intake, 400 th with 10" 3.3k stall, and 3.25s. I am going to upgrade to bigger headers (1 3/4" or 2") and 3" X-Pipe to the 2 1/2" mufflers. What is your combo like? I am interested to see how much I would pick up.

lol, it was late last night...

It is a 400 block w/ a cut down 455 crank.

H.I.S., 28x10's, 3 1/2 Flowmasters that dump right before the axle, 1.65 HS's

Step up to a 1 3/4" or 1 7/8" header primary dia. Othwerwise, I leave it alone until you up the cam and heads.
