had some time today to test fit for header clearance with the heads and bare block installed in the chassis, before sending the headers out to Airborn Coatings. the headers had to be dimpled just a bit at the lower control arm mount bracket. i went ahead and set the intake and carb on, just for grins. check out the pics.

Looks mean just sitting there, and the BFH on the firewall says it all regarding header installations.

The engine looks pretty mean with the Victor and the Dominator but power brakes? Must be a street car eh?

Oh my god, its a D port motor. Everyone knows you can't go fast in a D port motor.

Just kidding, really looks great.
I finally got to meet Steve C last weekend in Pboenix. Neat guy.

Larry your combo is ok, a chinese crankshaft and d ports won't blow the motor, not enough power, just don't use E heads and a chinese crankshaft and you'll will be safe. Wink

Yeah Jack, not a Victor for sure, Larry looks like some ones done some work on that intake nice job. Let me give you a little clue though about those fuel lines and regulator being mounted on the fender wall there, that's a problem looking to happen down the road, really shouldn't run more then a ft of line from the regulator to the carb especially a Dominator, I did and had big problems, ended up buying a plate with the regulator mounted right one it, ended my fuel problem. I like the looks of the intake.

right now, i have a Mallory COMP 110 that was used for my old Q-jet equipped motor.
thinking about replacing it with a COMP 140, but was also looking at the Aeromotive "street rod" pump too.
what about the Holley "blue" pump?
are the "new generation" holleys still noisey?

The Holley Blue pumps are not what you want to use
for your project. The Blue Pump as you said is noisy and also a low flow pump compared to todays
electric pumps. The holley Blue pump regulator has a very small orifice hole which will not allow
continous power for very long (drag racing). The
new aluminum finish large holley regulator has a
very nice, large (7/16 ball and orifice) that will
support your fuel needs if you use a Mallory 140 pump or equivalent. Tom V.

Larry, The down side I found with alot of the new quieter Holleys is they HAVE to have a 3/8 return line(per Holley anyway).Unless they have some newer ones than I looked at.

so Tom, what your saying is that the standard Holley regulator w/ the .220" orifice, will not be sufficient for adequate fuel delivery?
what about the COMP 140 and the regulator supplied with it in JEGS or SUMMIT?
i'll stay away from the noisy HOlleys.
