My 1975 had a sunroof in it when I bought it. I hate it! It leaked constantly and I am getting ready to repair all the rust brought on by it. I have another roof section that I am going to put on the car and I will be done with sunroofs forever. I have friends that love them but I would never cut a car to put one in. Maybe I'm just getting old. Just my .02.

My '78 has one too, fortunatly it hasn't leaked and done any sheetmetal damage but I hate it and want to remove it. To me it breaks the lines of the roof and looks completely out of place. I have seen others replace the entire roof but I'm hoping to weld in a patch from a donor car and not have to remove the front or rear glass for this repair.

The ASC installed power moon roof that was available on Camaro/Firebirds in the mid-70s are nice. There was a '72 T/A on ebay a few months ago with the glass version and I've seen a '78 Grand Prix that had it also.

Larry Navarro has the only '73 SD-455 T/A with one installed!

From me!.....
Whats cool is that when the slider is closed.....it fits flush with the rest of the roof so at first glance it looks as if there's no sunroof.

The only problem I had with it was the power switch plastic rocker had become brittle over the years and broke. Luckily, there's a former ASC employee that stocks the replacement parts for these roofs.

The power sunroof is a different story, those are cool. Mine is an aftermarket "pop up" type. I have also seen '73-'75 Grand Ams with the factory installed p. sunroof, nice item, hard to find parts for from what I understand, seals, motors, etc.

The car was ordered with the option from the original owner before he took delivery of the car.
I wouldn't have a clue where to have a roof done today.

I think those after market sun roofs kill the value of the car, I have a 76 with one in and I plan on replacing the roof if I restore it.

Ask someone with a Hurst Olds if its killed the value of their cars. ASC did the same retractable installs on those cars!
.......its no different than say....SLP, who did mods on the modern day birds.

I'm not referring to the ASC installed ones, I was talking about the JC Whitney cut a hole in your roof with a jigsaw type. I think the ASC ones would add value to a car because its a quality install.

Personally I dont want a sunroof OR t-tops in any car.......or truck. Nothing but trouble, if it isnt trouble now it will be later.
