Post freshen short block question,

Just tore down my short block, eveything looks great for 12 years ,
question ,, I have a 80lbs pump ,pressure cold start was 90lbs ,idle was 35-40lbs ,through the traps about 75lbs
I know the more pressure is causing drag ,how Hp is estimated to be lost.

I want to freshen and go with lighter pistons ,stronger rods and less oil pressure 60lbs.
Everything is balanced , I know with new rods and pistons the the crank and everything shouldbe rebalanced,
Can just pistons and rods be replaced without rebalancing the crank
stock rods/speedpro pistons vs eagle rods/lighter piston or equivalent

I think if you are lightening the RA that much, the crank needs to go in also.

I don't think you'll see much, if any measureable gain by changing to a lower pressure pump.

Everything needs to be rebalanced. Your bob weight will change with the lighter components and that weight is what the crank is balanced to.
