Default Cliff's carbs

I just got my carb rebuilt and it was still choking me with gas. Would it be a good thing to have Cliff look at it? I assume no one knows exactly what he does but I'm sure he could help. Thanks

You can't do any better than Cliff. I had my carb worked over by him and he solved problems that had been haunting me and my mechanics for years.

For sure send it in to Cliff. I've had nothing but the best performance from my quadrajet after Cliff worked it over.

Keep in mind that he has quite a backlog of work. You might post exactly what it is doing and how it acts and get an answer that will allow you to fix it yourself.

He's the best. Did 2 carbs for me but he'll probably give advice for free over the phone if you can catch him. Or like David said, he'll probably see this post and may give you some suggestions via this forum.

My buddy's carb was rebuilt by a reputable shop, and was also choking him out at idle, and fouling plugs.

He sent it to Cliff, and there were no idle tubes? Oops.

That's what I heard, but I'll have to confirm. The worst thing is, to me, is that my friend took the car back to the guy (who also curved his dizzy) and said it keeps fouling plugs and stinks at idle.

Go figure?

"how much is a superstock Q-Jet, does his carbs hold any records? who in stock/superstock runs his stuff?"

Yes, we do full race units for Stock, SS, pulling trucks, mud runners, hill climbers (they LOVE Q-jets, very good fuel control in the bowl and excellent venting system), some flat track, boats, etc. We also build some units for FAST and Pure Stock drag racing cars.

For Stock and SS, a couple of the "big" names get most of the work, they "walk on water" according to folks in those "circles".

Even so, we have taken at least a dozen full race carbs and squeezed more power out of them. One customer in particular dyno's EVERYTHING, our carb made 11 more hp than anything else he ever used.

For flat track stuff, we NEVER get any referals, those folks DO NOT tell anyone who does their carb work. We set one up last year for a new client, they are winning just about everything they enter, had to call them to get that information!

On a more interesting note, we got a call last week from a guy running Super Stock, who bought our book and built his own carb. We went faster with his own carb, using our information to build it, than he did with $3000 worth of carbs he bought from the other shops that supply SS carbs!.....Cliff

After messing with Q jets for over 10yrs and using the Doug Rowe book as referrence I still could never quite get the carb to idle right and always no matter what I did that darn nozzle drip was always present.Cliffs book is at a higher level .My carb runs and idles good, considering the cam I'm using. The transition is soo good from idle to main that it isn't really nessasary to cover the transition up with the pump shot from the squirter.I feel alot better after I know my carb is working like it should.Get the book,Barns and Noble carries it.Funny thing ,I also seen Jim Hands book their too.Must be a good book store.
