Question Inner tie rod 67 gto

Can anyone out there tell me why it is hard to find replacement inner tie rods for 67 gto? You can get outer tie rods nos, etc, but not inner tie rods. I was able to find a Moog inner left tie rod (357). Does anyone have a comment on the quality of a moog inner tie rod, compared to gm nos?? Thanks for the help.

The inner tie rod ends are not hard to find, what is hard to find are the ones with the zirk fitting on the ends of the joint and not in the back. I ordered two sets, specifically requesting the ones with the fitting on the end and got the kind with the fitting in the back both times. I gave up trying to find them. Be happy to sell you a set. Just make sure you grease them before you bolt them up and they should be fine.

I bought mine from performance suspension components in Arizona as a complete kit and it had inner tie rods with the fittings on the end.

I wouldn't replace it unless you know it's bad. You can buy Energy Suspension dust boots for a little over $3.00 for 2 of them, it will take 4 for the inner boots and outer boots.

But do any of you guys know if there is a quality difference between moog brand and regular old gm nos? I see that Ames doesn't even carry inner tie rods for a 67?? I just thought quality was an issue????

There is a few different style center links. You might not notice until you have them at the same time. Some of the original ones are made by Saginaw.

Thumbs up

66 and 67 inner tie rods and center links are different from most of the other year A bodies! Moog parts are, as good or better (in most cases) than NOS GM parts. our host here at PY sells them. I just redid the front on my 66, and i got them from Chris. part# RPU130 $35.00 bucks EACH. center links are double the price of the 68 to 72 ones as well! gotta pay the price for this "rare option"LOL!!

When I redid my front suspension 4-5 years ago I bought all Moog parts. I too had the issue with finding a Tie Rod with the Zerk Fitting on the end. Of course, you don't think that's an important point until you put it all back together... After trying many stores, I ended up drilling and tapping and inserting my own fitting and plugging the original hole. The issue was that the fitting just barelllllyyyyy hit the control arm when turning, if I recall..

And yes the darned center links are different enough to cause a frame clearance issue if you don't have just the right one.....

Question 67 gto starter id code number 110906-7K11 5

Have a 67 GT0 , thought to be mostly numbers matching car. How do I know if my starter is original to the car? Has Delco Remy USA stamped, with the following 110906-7K11 5 on housing. Is this a generic rebuild put on the car? Also ink stamped is USA Industries on the solenoid and starter housing. Thanks for any help.

He's right. And if it doesn't say Moog for suspension parts I want to keep stock, I won't use it. Tho Saginaw parts are online..... http://www.carparts.com/saginaw, I'd still rather use Moog.

X3 on the Moog parts. Been installing them in industry for almost 40 years. They tend to outlast the oem parts.
