Default X-Pipes on First Gen Convertible

Is it possible to install an X-Pipe w/2.25" pipes on a first gen convertible? I do not want to put a spacer on the brace, as some people have done. Also, does anyone make a 2.25" X-Pipe or do I have to use a reducer? I'll be using this with 2.25" long branch exhausts.

I think there is a thread that discusses this, but I can't seem to find it.

Thanks, John

You can run the X-pipe below the body pan but it will really lower the clearance. I wouldn't recommend it. I haven't seen a 2.25" F-body X-pipe kit available. If you want to keep the body pan, then you'll probably have to forego the X. If you run 2.5" downpipes and a 2.5" system, you will pick up enough hp where you won't miss the X-pipe as much.
