Default 76 t/a air cleaner base

Hello, I bought a 1976 T/A with an incorrect air cleaner assembly. From what I read, the one I have came on a 77 se w72 t/a only, but I have also seen them on other year t/a's(e-rape). What I need to know is what years had the oval opening on the snorkel so I can start the search for the correct one. The one I have works fine with the shaker scoop, just trying to put my car back together.I would show a pic of the air cleaner base, but I'm just not smart enough to upload it to this post. Thanks, Brad

I think 75 and 76 are all the same they have a air fiting on the back right side of the filter.

I'd say that probably right.

73 & 74 are similar with LESS holes for sensors & 78/79 W72 are ALSO similar, but the hole for the valve cover blowby pipe is in a different spot.

I have a 1976 Trans Am air box, minus the plastic cap piece that bolts to the air box opening, the ring to hold the top of the air box, the lid, and the scoop.
It does have one extra hole more than my 1974 air box.
I thought it was a '74, and bought it, but found out it's a '76.
I would consider selling it.
