Default Removing AC from a 1981 T/A

Pics of the firewall is what I want if possible. I want to get rid of the AC on this '81 T'A with a terror Y8/455. Is it feasable to change over to non AC? I just want to get rid of the big box for more room in the engine bay. This thing has 4:11's and is a great ab workout due to all the torque..

Cover the holes yourself with some sheet metal. If you need heat & defrost then buy the Mojave heater made by Flex-a-Lite. Can be bought at Summit or Jegs. It mounts under the dash, has the fan built in. The only thing coming into the firewall is the hoses.

Do you plan on taking it out completely?I did it on my 80 and it took off about 70lbs total.I just cut an alum plate to cover the hole.

I took the ac off my 80 t/a But I made it look stock with all the non ac parts. Its some work and you will need to weld the hole closed and do some recutting but it looks much better than a plate over the hole. I had to take the wheel tub out to get to it but it was more than worth it when done. If you can find a doner car for the parts thats half the battle.

The big rectangle shaped hole can be made smooth.......rather than just covering it, for a much cleaner look. There is a slight lip around the hole, you can cut it off or grind it off or work it until its flat. Then weld in a piece of sheet. Its a good bit of work but looks much better if the super clean look is wat your after. Then again, you could flange the edge of the hole then use the panel adhesive from Eastwood......be easier and no chance of warpage like there would be by welding it in.
